State Coordinators' Handbook
Description:The State Coordinators' Handbook is a useful tool to assist State Coordinators for Homeless Education in implementing the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act in their state. The Handbook provides information and strategies compiled from State Coordinators across the country for identifying local liaisons (as required by federal law), training local liaisons in their role, and maintaining ongoing communication with local liaisons. Instructions: The State Coordinators' Handbook is a web-based document that may be accessed online in its entirety, by each section, or by each appendix.
The Handbook has hyperlinks from the Table of Contents down to each section within the Handbook. Following are tips to help you navigate through the document:
- At the bottom of each page, there is a hyperlink on each page number which returns the reader to that section within the Table of Contents (for example, clicking on page number B-3 returns the reader to Section B within the overall Table of Contents).
- The title of the document and section are within the footer on each page. Clicking on that part of the footer will return the reader to the beginning of that section (for example, clicking on "State Coordinators' Handbook: Charting the Course" at the bottom of page B-4 will return the reader to page B-1 which is the beginning of Section B).
- Each appendix that has multiple pages also has hyperlinks within the footer that return the reader to the beginning of that specific appendix.
- Hyperlinks throughout the document lead to other parts of the Handbook as well as external weblinks.
